Osamas dead

I am really happy that we killed Osama because he was finally brought to justice.  On 9-11 he planned the attack on the world trade center.  This attack was successful and killed many Amercian people basically over 3,000.  I hope the death of Osama will make the victims and their familys of 9-11 feel a little better because many people lost things that day someone lost a father or a mother or even their kids.  Last night everyone was gathering outside the White House because they heard of the news that Osama was killed.  The crowd was singin the Star Spangled Banner and other soungs about our country.  The death of Bin Ladin will bring all Americans together.  We have madea huge impact in the war on terror.  WE have taken out the leader of the most dangerous terrorism group or world knows today Al-Quada.  I do think that they will try and retaliate but we have taken down on of there most powerful leaders he was the face of terrorism and i do feel that Al-Quada will not be as strong as they were when Bin Ladin was alive.  The war on terror is far from over because there are still skilled Al-Quada leaders in the world today but i do feel that the killing of Osama is a major step forward for us and the rest of the world on the war on terror.  I think this will really help the soldiers from the U.S. still present in the middle east a ton because they now know that we are moving forward everyday and we are one step closer to ending this war and taking Al-Quada down.

maus and night

The books Maus and Night were very similair because the both dealt with the topic of the Holocaust.  In both of the books you see how bad the Holocaust actually was and how wrong it was. In both books the main character loses someone close to them.  In Night the main character loses his dad and in Maus he loses his mom.  In Night the dad died because he was so tired he died of exhaustion.  In Maus the mom kills herself because of the Holocaust.   All these people were beiung torchured and killed just because they were Jewish and that is not okay.  In the Night the author was in the action.  The author is writing about there own personal experiences of the Holocaust and of the main camp called Auchwitz.  In Night you realize how hard it was to survive in Auchwitz or any other Nazi camp.  The book Maus is about a man writing a book about his fathers experiences in the Holocaust.  It focuses more on his childhood and dealing with the Holocaust.  I would say a big difference in the books is that Maus is a cartoon book and Night is not.  Maus makes it not as scary of a book to read while Night is basically reality of what the Holocaust really was and the brutalness of it all.  I would recomend reading both of these books because they both show the facts and events of the Holocaust in a different way and its good to see many different perspectives of the topic of the Holocaust.

Restrepo

Pre-Writing:
1.In Restrepo when the soldiers had to fly into the place it showed what it was like in Perry's point of view when he first flew in to vietnam.
2. In both they are right in enemy territory which seems really scary that they could get shot at or attacked and could be killed at any time.
3. In Restrepo when the squad is out questioning locals it reminded me when Perry's squad trys to help the vietnameese locals and they were both friendly to the native people.
4. When Restrepo dies its very similair when Jenkins dies in the book Fallen Angels.  There similair because they both die that the beginning of their job and they didn't really get a chance to prove themselves.
5. I thought it was happy when the soldiers time was up and they could go home Perry felt great when he could go home and if I was in the situation and they told me that I was able to go home I would be thrilled also.
6.  I thought it was sad when one of the soldiers in REstrepo was crying over a fellow soldier being killd it made me think of how Perry was feeling when hes soldiers died it also made me relize how big strong soldiers can be emotional too.
7.  In Restrepo when they talked about the final battle where they saw the enemy 20feet away from them that made me think of when Perry and Peewee were in the spider whole and they  saw and killed their enemy who was like right next to them.
8. In Restrepo when they loose there second man in battle it is kinda like Brew dying in the end of the book.
9. When they lose REstrepo in the firefight its like when Jenkins dies in the beginning of the book because they both die right away.
10.  Both honor and celebrate fallen fellow soldiers lives bake a cake when brew dies and in REstrepo they shoot a flar up into the sky to honor.
Writing:
Reading the book Fallen Angels and watching the movie Restrepo taught me many things about war.  It taught me how scary war can be like when the American soldiers went into rock avalanche and they could have been attacked at any time.  The soldiers were talkin about going into Kornigal Valley they thought it wouldnt be that bad but when they actuallly got there a bunch of tough soldiers began to get weak at the knees because it was so scary.  Also when your in the war you can get hit at any time so you need to be able to rely on your fellow soldiers so that they can help you out if you get shot or you are injured.  And you need to be able to do the same thing for them. So basically you need to build relationships with your fellow soldiers and make friends because you can't fight a war alone and you need to have people on your side.
