Lil Wayne had a unique birth he was born on September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Lousiana. New Orleans was a high crime area at that time and still is today. Dwayne's father divorced his mother and left him when he was only 2. (Special Birth). http://rap.about.com/od/artists/p/LilWayne.htm In the Summer of 1991 Lil Wayne was introduced to Bryan Williams aka Birdman a rapper and owner of Cash Money Records. Bryan served as a mentor to young carter and helped him develop the skills he needed to succeed in the rap business. Dwayne was soon adopted by the famous rapper Birdman and made several hits. He was 15 when he was adopted. (Atonement with Father) (Supernatural Guide) http://www.chacha.com/question/what-age-did-bird-man-adopt-lil-wayne Dwayne wrote his 1st rhyme when he was 8. At age 15 Lil Wayne joined the rap group called Hot Boys and he was the youngest member in the group. (Call of Adventure) http://www.starpulse.com/Music/Lil_Wayne/Biography/ He knew that once he got into the rap game that there was no turning back the only way he was going is forward. He would soon produce several successful albums. (Belly of the Wale) http://www.biography.com/articles/Lil-Wayne-369134 When Dwayne was 13 his step father was convicted for 6 months and had to serve that time behind bars. When he got out he was abducted and killed. Wayne was also a Honor student but he dropped out of High School. (Test/Ordeals/Hero Deeds) http://www.spiritus-temporis.com/lil-wayne/ Dwayne's current rap group is called Young Money, which consists of 12 other amazing Hip Hop/ Rap artists. These artists include Tyga, T-Streets, Short Dawg, Shanell, Nicki Minaj, Mack Maine, Lil Twist, Lil Chuckie, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda, Cory Gunz, and Drake. These would all be considered Hero Partners but I think that Bryan Williams aka Birdman was really the most influential person in his life because he really completed his music because Birdman and Lil wayne had several hit songs an example would be Stunnin Like My Daddy which reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. (Hero Partners) http://www.lilwaynehq.com/young-money-entertainment/ As Lil Wayne became more famous he got alot more attention from the females but he choose to stay on this road and work on his rhymes. (Woman as Temptation) http://www.biography.com/articles/Lil-Wayne-369134 His ultimate boon is the tattoo he has that says Young Money which is his rap group. He just released a new album called "I am not a Human Being". (Freedom to live)

I choose to compare Doug from the Blue Diamond to Luke from Star Wars because i feel the both see a lot of the parts of the heroes path. They both encounter different hero journeys but I think that they would both be considered heroes. Luke's journey consists of fighting in battles and Doug's journey is all about him trying to convince his best friend not to commit suicide. As you can see these are to totally different paths which result in the Hero having to face these challenges differently. This demonstrates my point that Luke and Doug encounter different paths but they are both Heroes. Another point i have is. Unlike Luke Doug has no mentor or guide in his journey to help him succeed. You don't always need a guide to succeed. Luke's guide is Obi-Wan and Obi helps Luke to succeed on his mission. But Doug has no mentor or guide he has no help no Hero partners or anything and he also comes in to his mission completely blind not even knowing what he is up against. This represents my point that you don't always need a guide or mentor to succeed on your mission and that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. A guide is very helpful though. A point i have that contrasts the two Heros is that the both get into dangerous situations to save people. Luke has to fight several battles to save the princess and the Jedis. Doug has to drive all the way to Las Vegas and when they are there a guy sells them a diamond and he could have killed Quinn and Doug. I am saying that Heroes are usually very brave like Doug and Luke. If they lack courage then I feel they wouldn't be successful. In conclusion Luke and Doug are both Heroes but they have very different Hero journeys. Luke had a mentor and he had a couple Hero partners and Doug had to take on the challenge by himself without any Hero partners or mentors. Luke and Doug both got into dangerous situations to save there friends. These are all elments of the Heroes journy and it shows that Luke and Doug encountered many of these tasks.
